Delta Dental sets stage for Washington, D.C. office
OAK BROOK, Ill. (July 5, 2011) - Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA), representing the nation's largest network of dental benefits providers, announced the hiring of Julia Ciorletti-Grant as the association's new vice president of government relations and public policy.
"Julia's extensive health care industry knowledge coupled with her government relations experience will serve Delta Dental well, especially as Congress, federal agencies and states figure out how to navigate changes resulting from health care reform," said Kim Volk, president and CEO of DDPA. "Julia's first order of business will be to open a Washington, D.C. office, and we look forward to that happening within the coming weeks."
Prior to joining Delta Dental, Ciorletti-Grant was senior vice president, government relations at Bravo Health and vice president, government relations at Centene Corporation in Washington, D.C. She was formerly an assistant director of congressional affairs for the American Medical Association, and served on the state hospital associations of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Ciorletti-Grant has also worked in various capacities in the White House, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Justice and the House of Representatives. She completed her undergraduate studies at Franklin and Marshall College, and earned a Master of Arts degree in health service management and policy from George Washington University.
"I am excited about this new opportunity," Ciorletti-Grant said. "I think it's the right time for Delta Dental to be expanding its presence in Washington, D.C. The health care reform law made dental health and benefits a priority. I am looking forward to working with DDPA and its member companies in representing their views to Congress and the administration."
