Delta Dental Plans Association hires Tim Steffl as vice president, strategic development & finance

Steffl to drive largest dental insurance provider's strategy function and oversee finance and accounting operations

OAK BROOK, Illinois - December 3, 2018 - Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA) announces Tim Steffl has joined the organization as vice president, strategic development & finance, effective November 5, 2018. With 30 years of health care management, strategy, finance and sales experience, Steffl will be responsible for providing the oversight and leadership for DDPA's strategic development and finance and accounting operations. DDPA is the not-for-profit national association of the 39 independent Delta Dental companies. Through these companies, Delta Dental is the nation's largest provider of dental insurance, covering more than 78 million Americans.

Steffl will be based in DDPA's headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, and will report to Steven R. Olson, DDPA president and CEO.

Most recently, Steffl was president of Pivot Health Advisors, where he led the health care consulting firm in product innovation and commercialization for hospitals and evolving organizations. His career also includes 16 years with the American Hospital Association (AHA) in Chicago, where he was most recently the chief operating and development officer for AHA Solutions, Inc./Health Forums. He successfully built and ran three separate businesses for the AHA.

Steffl's three-decade career also encompasses his role as vice president for Professional Healthcare Consultants, a specialty strategic consulting firm focused on physician practice-related engagements. In addition, he was founder and president of central Missouri's first physician-hospital organization and independent physician association. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in finance from The Ohio State University.
